Negan is sarcastic and intelligent. More so than many of his elders. While his humor is amusing, and he has no filter when it comes to speaking of things just the way they are, Negan does tend to get a bit cocky. He also has a tendency to do things without thinking ahead. Then, he doesn't really care. The only thing he sees that is worth living for is avenging his family and friends, thus bringing out his darker side.

Being Born the oldest in a little of four brothers Negan always thought himself top dog even as a tiny pup. He was soon put in his place however by the mean breeder who kicked him against a pile of junk leaving a nasty scar on his side. Months passed and Negan was sold to a family, leaving his siblings far behing him. He settled into the home nicely, growing up living a easy going life. He got along with the other family dog called Shane who was a year younger then him. Negan and Shane were neighbors with a policeman and his two K9 officers. Instantly Negan took a liking to the older German shepherd who he found out was named Tucker (and his son Shep). So when Tucker and Shep didn't return home one night the mastiff began to worry. Shane of course tell him to stay out of it but the large dog didn't listen and escapes in a hole in the fence in search of the father and son duo soon following the faint scent
