Veruct's paws stopped just short of the end of the bridge. he stood there, looking down at what was once the ocean. now it was nothing more than sand and decaying ships and boats. it was rather creepy honestly but he stood there, wondering what had happened here all those years ago. it baffled him how this bridge was still standing around. it looked so sad and bleak right now . he tucked his hindquarters into a sitting position;letting his forelegs keep his upper body erect as he looked around. there was only one single narrow beam connecting one end to the other. it would take a balancing act just to cross but he was good with balancing. his curiosity had gotten the better of him and he rose to all fours and began carefully making the slow trek across that narrow beam. he kept his eyes forward, not daring to look down at any point. he carefully placed his paws on the beam and slowly made his way across.
eventually he reached the other side and let out a breath, not realizing he'd been holding it this entire time.

 ARCHIBALD - "ARCHIE"
"TAKE ME TO THE TOP, I'M READY FOR WHATEVER IT TAKES" His eyes peered around the scenery. He had taken a break from his group and gone on an adventure. In the sun, his black pelt gleamed. Archibald took his steps slowly, and left his large paw prints in the sand behind him. There was a slight breeze in the air as he continued to walk through the sandy terrain. His tracks stopped when he caught a scent in the air. He knew that it wasn't exactly in his territory, but Archie still liked to cause a little trouble. His pace quickened to follow the smell. His steps were silent in the sand as he glided easily around the land. He slowed as the scent became stronger. His tail gave a light wave as his amber eyes looked around for any place of hiding and observation. The only thing in sight was a medium-sized rock. His body turned in the rock's direction and began to move towards it.
As he was in a position, he looked around the rock. The old, broken bridge. He saw a canine, a tan looking canine, crossing the bridge. Archibald watching as the canine made their way across towards his side. He kept quiet, knowing that it would take focus to cross the bridge safely. Once the canine succeeded, Archibald raised an amused smile. Quite a talented act to achieve.
Once the canine had crossed, Archibald moved out from the rock and into sight. "That was quite a feat." His words were low, but traveled far. Archibald kept his posture tall even as he closed some distance between himself and the unknown canine. tag: Archibald (nah its cool) Veruct raised his eyes to the ebony colored wolf that had approached him. his body language seemed friendly but Veruct always kept his guard up because you never know who was fake or hiding their true agenda. Still, Veruct decided to be civil and polite to the wolf being so far he had given him no reason to worry. "Just out of curiosity i decided to come here to see what had happened," he explained to the wolf. "But there is a bar here that leads across so i decided to see what was on the other side." he said offering a lop sided grin. "I'm a bit reckless i guess." he said offering a chuckle as he tilted his head to the side. "My names Veruct what is your name?" he asked in a friendly tone as he waited to see what the other male would say. He let his tail wag a bit to show that he was friendly and non threatening. |

ARCHIBALD - "ARCHIE"
"TAKE ME TO THE TOP, I'M READY FOR WHATEVER IT TAKES" His eyes looked the dog up and down. He was merely curious of the canine. His reasoning seemed to be flawed, but Archibald paid little attention to it. As the dog told Archibald his name, he walked closer. Though still a good length away, Archibald's larger size would be more noticeable. He raised his head as Veruct asked for his name. "My name is Archibald." His body language stayed calm, but his aura was seemingly threatening. "You must be reckless to attempt such a daring stunt, considering if you become injured you're basically dead in this world we have now." He little rant made him walk towards the broken bridge, looking down at the drop and sandy land below. "But, never mind that. No adventure without risk I suppose."
The wolf turned back to face the canine. "Do you have a destination? Or are you simply wandering?" Archie cracked a small smile. "Or are you a trouble maker?" |

tag: ArchibaldVeruct nodded at Archibald's statement. he was right of course--had he gotten injured there would be no one there to help him. but then he saw the wolf crack a smile and felt himself relaxing a bit more. "Probably a little bit of both," he said meaning he was wandering around and he was a bit of a trouble maker. "But i do know there are some interesting things beyond this bridge," Veruct said looking toward the end of the bridge which seemed to go off for miles in the horizon. "Care to join me?" he asked the wolf as he waited to see what he would say next. He wouldn't mind the company that was for sure. it could get lonely out here and exploring with a buddy was just what he needed now. Friends were a luxury at this point and he was hoping that he'd come away with one. |

"TAKE ME TO THE TOP, I'M READY FOR WHATEVER IT TAKES" The wolf looked at him. Having agreed with Archibald's comment about the danger of crossing the bridge, he seemed to respect the dog a small bit. His tail shifted side to side as Veruct spoke about adventuring and trouble making. "Causing trouble is a fun activity, given that you don't poke the wrong victim of the trouble." He had remember causing trouble once. The last time he had, Archibald was smacked around by an angry wolf. His brow raised as Veruct asked if he'd like to accompany him on an adventure. He had nothing to stop him. The Urbex pack was calm for a change after recent troubles with the leaders. His plain face shifted into a smile. "An outing would be fun for a change. Well needed in parts such as this." The wolf slowly moved towards Veruct. "Care to lead the way?" |

"You wouldn't happen to remember much from when the asteroid hit do you?" he asked him curiously. "I mean like your family generations....have they talked about it much?" he was curious to see if anyone's family had ever talked about the asteroid hitting the earth being the canines that were there now were simply as a result of generations of families and breeds going back to when it all began. Veruct was curious and interested in this. His paws touched the ground and being the sun had hit most of the place, his pads burned a little but it was nothing unpleasant enough to stop walking or anything. his tail wagged behind him as he walked, slowly, keeping pace with the wolf next to him. so far he liked archibald....perhaps he would come away with a friend today. |

"TAKE ME TO THE TOP, I'M READY FOR WHATEVER IT TAKES" Archibald kept hid pace even. Though his pace may have been a tad bit fast for the dog. His pace slowed as Veruct asked about the asteroid. It wasn't a hard topic for him, it was just that it wasn't something he talked about. His face turned to Veruct. Then he spoke, "I don't remember much. My family wouldn't speak about it. Nor my pack." He turned his attention back towards walking before again going to speak. "The Urbex aren't particularly interested in asteroid business. We're more interested in other activities." As he mentioned the Urbex, Archibald looked to Veruct for his expression. Most would make distance. Thought Archibald was one of the better Urbex members one could run into. "Usually, it's not talked about. But, I know enough about it to get by. What is your memory or knowledge?" |
