Retro's paws touched the ground that was once the military base. this place was vast and large and there was a lot of ground to cover to explore, but he didn't mind one bit. the ground was warm from the sun beating down on it, but not hot enough that it wasn't unpleasant or burning his pads. the large black shepherd's ears were pricked, acoustics cupping any faint noise that might come to them.
his brown eyes surveyed the land before him taking in some crucial points. his nose twitched trying to pick up any scent that might come to him but so far it was blank.
his eyes landed on one of the large hangars and he began walking toward it. once inside, the air was a bit cooler being from the shade. it was large, big enough to house a 747 plane. there was a small cessna plane parked there, but the glass was gone and bits of the engine were exposed. decay and rust from the elements blowing it had taken it. he noticed a small hatch in the floor that was open. fear and curiosity grabbed him as he slowly approached it. he sniffed the air coming out of it. so far it smelled okay, so he began to slowly descend down into the darkness.
